Winery Karlo Dillmann

The boys with the hat

Now in its second generation, the Karlo Dillmann winery is run by sons Marcel and Marius in the Rheingau region, more specifically in Geisenheim. Parents Annette and Karlo make the foursome a complete package.

As a hobby, Karlo Dillmann started producing wine in his native Geisenheim.

Cellar master Marcel Dillmann, who successfully completed his apprenticeship as a winemaker and his studies as a viticultural technician in Weinsberg, joined the family business, and so the company was converted to a full-time business in 2015.

Rheingau and Riesling, these are two words that should not be separated. This white wine has found its perfect home in the Rheingau. What it needs: sunny and south-facing sites, a mild climate and good quality soils which this grape variety finds plenty of in the Rheingau.

While the Karlo Dillmann winery has cultivated this typical Rheingau grape variety it also produces Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat. These are claddified in the ranges of 70% dry, 20% off-dry and 10% sweet and noble sweet wines.

From Assmannshausen to Winkel, the winery farms about ten hectares.

Their white wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks, wooden barrels and barrique barrels, while red wines are stored exclusively in wooden barrels and barrique barrels.

To keep quality high at all times, Marcel relies on selective harvesting and gentle grape processing which are responsible for the flavors and aromas of the grapes that you taste.

Be on the look out for what these guys present next…we certainly are.
